- Harvest Age & Commercial Shelf Life: Bananas are harvested at an average physiological age of 10 to 12 weeks from flowering, ensuring optimal maturity for export markets. This harvest age definition relates solely to fruit development prior to harvest and is independent of post-harvest longevity. Under professional post-harvest management, including appropriate phytosanitary treatment, crown protection, ethylene control systems, export-grade packaging, refrigerated transportation, and uninterrupted cold-chain management, the fruit is capable of achieving a commercial post-harvest life of up to approximately 50 days. Such life expectancy may encompass marine transportation, warehousing, ripening-room operations, wholesale distribution, and retail merchandising while preserving commercially acceptable quality standards. Actual performance may vary depending on transit duration, temperature management, ripening protocols, and destination conditions.

From Plantation to Export
At AgroGesta Gold™, every banana undergoes a carefully controlled process to ensure premium quality from the plantation to international markets.
From plantation to export, AgroGesta Gold guarantees quality, traceability, and reliability at every stage of the supply chain.

Cultivation
Bananas are grown and carefully monitored throughout their development to ensure healthy plants and high-quality fruit.

Harvesting
Banana bunches are hand-harvested at the mature green stage, the ideal condition for international shipping.

De-handing & Trimming
The bunches are separated into smaller hands or clusters, and any damaged fruit is removed.

Transportation to Packing House
Freshly harvested bunches are transferred from the plantation to the packing facility for post-harvest processing.

Manual Spraying
Banana clusters are manually sprayed with clean water to remove visible dirt, latex, and field debris. This preliminary cleaning step helps minimize contaminants before the main washing process.

Tank Washing and Sanitization
The pre-cleaned banana clusters are immersed in washing tanks with sanitized water, where any remaining latex, dust, and impurities are removed. This stage ensures compliance with hygiene and quality standards before grading and packing.

Grading & Quality Selection
Each banana hand is carefully inspected and classified according to size, shape, weight, and appearance.

Packaging
Selected bananas are packed in new corrugated cardboard boxes (22XU type) with internal cardboard protection polyethylene vacuum-sealed inner bag to preserve product quality and maintain optimal ripening stage.

Cold Chain Export
After packaging, boxes are palletized, pre-cooled, and loaded into refrigerated containers. Throughout transportation, a controlled temperature is maintained to preserve freshness, protect quality, and ensure the bananas arrive in optimal condition at international destinations.
